Dac-Nhuong Le is Ph.D, Deputy-Head of Faculty of Information Technology, Haiphong University, Vietnam. Vice-Director of Information Technology Apply Center in the same university. He is a research scientist of Research and Development Center of Visualization & Simulation in (CSV), Duy Tan University, Danang, Vietnam. He has more than 45 publications in the reputed international conferences, journals and online book chapter contributions (Indexed By: SCI, SCIE, SSCI, Scopus, ACM, DBLP). His area of research includes: evaluation computing and approximate algorithms, network communication, security and vulnerability, network performance analysis and simulation, cloud Computing, image processing in biomedical. His core work in network security, wireless, soft computing, mobile computing and biomedical. The networks studied in my research works are various, including communication networks, online social networks, wireless sensor networks, biological networks, and smart grids. I analyze and apply these optimization models and algorithms to many application domains: security in smart grids such as load distribution attacks and cascading failures, security in social networks such as limiting misinformation, security in communication networks such as DDoS attacks; information diffusion and propagation in social networks; fault-tolerant routing protocols in mobile networks; coverage and cloud phenomenon detection in sensor networks, and structural analysis of modern complex systems, including interdependent infrastructures.
In computer science, evolutionary computation is a family of algorithms for global optimization inspired by biological evolution, and the subfield of artificial intelligence and soft computing studying these algorithms. In technical terms, they are a family of population-based trial and error problem solvers with a metaheuristic or stochastic optimization character. In evolutionary computation, an initial set of candidate solutions is generated and iteratively updated. Each new generation is produced by stochastically removing less desired solutions, and introducing small random changes. In biological terminology, a population of solutions is subjected to natural selection (or artificial selection) and mutation. As a result, the population will gradually evolve to increase in fitness, in this case the chosen fitness function of the algorithm. Evolutionary computation techniques can produce highly optimized solutions in a wide range of problem settings, making them popular in computer science. Many variants and extensions exist, suited to more specific families of problems and data structures. Evolutionary computation is also sometimes used in evolutionary biology as an in silico experimental procedure to study common aspects of general evolutionary processes.
Data communications incorporates several techniques and technologies with the primary objective of enabling any form of electronic communication. These technologies include telecommunications, computer networking and radio/satellite communication. Data communication usually requires existence of a transportation or communication medium between the nodes wanting to communicate with each other, such as copper wire, fiber optic cables or wireless signals. For example, a common example of data communications is a computer connected to the Internet via a Wi-Fi connection, which uses a wireless medium to send and receive data from one or more remote servers. Some devices/technologies used in data communications are known as data communication equipment (DCE) and data terminal equipment (DTE). DCE is used at the sending node, and DTE is used at the receiving node.
In computer network research, network simulation is a technique whereby a software program models the behavior of a network by calculating the interaction between the different network entities (routers, switches, nodes, access points, links etc.). Most simulators use discrete event simulation - the modeling of systems in which state variables change at discrete points in time. The behavior of the network and the various applications and services it supports can then be observed in a test lab; various attributes of the environment can also be modified in a controlled manner to assess how the network / protocols would behave under different conditions.
This tutorial is essentially required before doing anything with C#. After this first tutorial everyone should be able to write a simple C# program using basic object-oriented principles. Hence more advanced or curious readers will probably miss some parts. As an example we will not investigate exception handling, exciting possibilities with the .NET-Framework like LINQ and more advanced language features like generics or lambda expressions. Here our aim is to give a soft introduction to C# for people coming from other languages.
